SCRANTON CHAMBER PARTNERS WITH SUDENTS AT LACKAWANNA COUNTY CTC

Scranton, Lackawanna County, PA - Skills in Scranton, the workforce development affiliate of The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, partnered with the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County, on printing services for the Skills 2022 Workforce Summit & Career Fair.

Students from the Print Production Technology class printed program booklets and event signage displayed during the Summit.

“It was a great opportunity for my class, Print Production Technology, to partner with the Chamber of Commerce for this project,” said Rebecca Rinella, Print Production Instructor, CTC. “Not many people know what great programs we have here at CTC so it is exciting when we can share what we do with the community and give my students live work experience.”

Skills in Scranton hosted the SKILLS 2022 Workforce Summit & Career Fair on Thursday, September 29 at the Viewmont Mall. This event was free to the public and not your typical job fair. Themed Attract, Sustain, Grow, the Summit featured industry Connect Sessions, presentations on employer best practices, and free resume writing and interviewing. Students from Lackawanna County high schools were in attendance.

“The Chamber is pleased to have had the opportunity to partner with the CTC on this project. Skills in Scranton works to connect students with the businesses community to provide career pathways and readiness skills. Printing of event materials was an excellent way to provide students a direct connection to industry while gaining career experience.” said Amy S. Luyster, vice president, The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce.
