Schuylkill County

Schuylkill County is in the southern section of Northeastern Pennsylvania, only an hour south of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Corridor. Some portions of Schuylkill County are in the Pocono Mountains. Schuylkill County is home to three State Parks, seven campgrounds, the Appalachian Trail, the Little Schuylkill and Schuylkill Rivers, Sweet Arrow Lake County Park and Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. Located along the bustling Interstate 81 corridor, Schuylkill County is a great choice for businesses that must get their products to market quickly. Interstate 81 cuts through the county southwest to northeast, with major interchanges at mile markers 100, 107, 116, 119, 124 and 131. State Route 61 serves as the backbone of the county, connecting Ashland, Frackville, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven and Orwigsburg. Schuylkill County is just minutes away from Interstate 78, Interstate 80 and the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
